Shipping and Delivery
How does
FREE DELIVERY work?
First of all,
let's understand that Free delivery does not
mean that UPS
or FedEx have decided not to charge anything, it
simply means that we are paying for the shipping
when you order from us. In order to do
that, we must use the most economical means to
do so, which usually means
delivery on one of our delivery trucks.
Our trucks travel
most of the eastern USA. However they
don't go everywhere, nor are they in every
section every week. We usually try to schedule a trip north one week, south the
next, east the next, and you get the
idea. So if your order comes in the week
before we are coming in your direction, they you
get delivery in one week. If we just were
in your area last week, then it may be 3-4 weeks
before we are back. So free shipping means
your items will come within 4 weeks unless it is something being
built which
may take 2 weeks longer.
You always have
the option of paying for rush shipping - in
which case we will carefully package up your
items and send them on common carrier as soon as
possible. Ask your representative for
info.
How is
delivery provided?
There are a couple
of ways that we get furniture to you. Our
standard free shipping is to bring it to you on
our trucks (we deliver to most areas east of the
Mississippi river) but if that is not possible,
we also provide delivery by LTL
(less than truckload) carriers such as FedEx
Freight or UPS Freight. In those cases, we
carefully package the furniture for shipment to
you, and arrange for the driver to call you to
set a time for delivery.
When the truck
arrives, you will need to have help on hand (the
driver cannot unload by himself) and you will
also need to inspect the items (unpack them)
while the driver is present to inspect for
hidden damages. While rare, it is very
important to note any damage on the
delivery ticket while the driver
is present in order for us to provide
replacements.
READ
THIS - Once you sign the delivery ticket, you
are signing a legal document that says you
receive the goods AS IS.
If you fail to
open the box for 3 weeks and then find damage,
you will be
responsible to pay for replacement or repairs,
unless
you
signed the ticket noting damages while the
driver was present!
